Tretinoin ruining my life

My face wasn’t too bad when I went to the derm but I was tired of having acne. Tretinoin has completely ruined my life. It has broken my face out like crazy and I’m like 5 weeks in. I keep thinking it couldn’t get any worse but then it does. It gets a little better through the week but like every Sunday/Monday it gets so much worse and then repeats every week. I stopped drinking because I thought that may be the cause but obviously not. At least I can drink again without guilt
